Updated: Jan 8, 2019

Throughout its 50 or so year history, Star Trek fans have wanted to talk about the show that they love. The podcast “movement” has given us a gateway into a realm where interesting people have fascinating discussions about all things Trek.

When it comes to Star Trek podcasts, we’re spoilt for choice! If you’re looking to start listening to something to feed your Trek appetite, then we’ve collated a list of our favourites. So, in no particular order…

Transporter Room 3

Hosted by Phil Pirrello and Scott Collura, this irreverent look at the franchise has been running since 2011. It will have you holding your sides from the moment the intro is over; especially with episode titles such as “Spock’s Boobs”, and “The one with Quark talking about sex with Kathie Lee”!

Transporter Room 3

Fun is a word that succinctly encapsulates this podcast, but don’t let that dissuade from the fact that Phil (ex-StarTrek dot com writer) and Scott (current IGN writer) know their Romulan Ale from Blood Wine!

The Shuttle Pod

This podcast is run by the good folk over at TrekMovie.com and includes four of the sites’ contributors talking about a range of topics from Discovery, to their favourite “weird” episodes.

Melodic Treks

A truly original podcast, Melodic Treks is hosted by Brandon Shea Mutala on TrekFM and often features fascinating interviews with Star Trek composers throughout the series and movies. With guests such as Cliff Eidelman (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country), Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek Generations, Star Trek The Next Generation, Star Trek Deep Space Nine), and Jeff Russo (Star Trek Discovery).

The podcast also has interviews with writers and directors such as Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country). Music is an integral part of Star Trek and this podcast showcases that in a very informative way.
